We create fragrances with intention.
Each scent is designed to be meaningful and authentic, and to connect with the complex, nuanced stories that shape our lives.

Enchantment

We believe in capturing and creating moments of beauty, awe, and wonder through fragrance.

Humility

We craft fragrances with skill, inspiration, heart, and soul—but that is only the beginning. Our fragrances fully come to life only when they become part of our customers’ lived experiences.

Respect and Responsibility to Place and History

We approach our work with awareness of the places, histories, and presences that precede us. We practice restraint in our storytelling and avoid using names, stories, or symbols that are not ours to use.

Empowerment

We believe fragrance can play a supportive role in emotional experience and human connection.

Authenticity

We believe fragrance offers a direct path inward—a quiet shortcut to the soul. It guides how we create, and how we invite others to choose: with honesty, and in alignment with what feels true.

Gratitude

We are grateful for the farmers, harvesters, distillers, and artisans whose skill, care, and labour make the practice of perfumery possible.

Craftsmanship

Every fragrance should be thoughtfully composed, with meticulous attention to detail and artistry.

Care and Attentiveness to Materials

We believe perfumery materials possess innate beauty. Our role as perfumers is to engage with them attentively and reveal them with care.

Sustainability

We believe fragrance should be crafted responsibly and transparently, and we strive to prioritize responsible sourcing and eco-conscious practices.

Our Values

What values guide Parfums Encanteau?
Balance, intention, attentiveness to materials, and human connection sit at the heart of the brand. We approach perfume not as a product to be optimized or engineered for room-filling projection, but as a craft meant to enrich everyday life in a considered and meaningful way.

What does enchantment mean in your work?
Enchantment is about creating moments of beauty, awe, and wonder. It isn’t about fantasy or excess, but about those subtle instances when a scent gently shifts how a moment feels or how the world is perceived.

How can fragrance contribute to emotional wellbeing?
We believe fragrance can support emotional experience by fostering presence, comfort, and connection. Scent can gently influence how a moment is felt—often without words—and can quietly support human connection in everyday life.

What does empowerment through fragrance look like?
Empowerment comes from choice and self-expression. Our fragrances are created to support individuals in feeling more themselves—confident, centered, and aligned—rather than to conform to expectations or trends.

Why is humility important in Parfums Encanteau’s perfumery?
While we bring skill, experience, and care to each composition, we recognize that a fragrance is only truly completed when it becomes part of someone’s life. Humility reminds us that perfume ultimately belongs to the wearer, not the maker.

How do tradition and learning influence your work?
Perfumery is both a science and an art form that has been evolving for centuries. We stand on the shoulders of generations of perfumers, chemists, and craftspeople, and we are grateful to our teachers, mentors and peers who have shared their expertise and continue to inspire our work.

What does authenticity mean in the context of fragrance?
We believe fragrance offers a direct path to emotional truth. Authenticity means creating perfumes that feel honest and resonant rather than performative. Speaking your truth leads to more meaningful scent experiences.

How do you approach ingredient selection?
We approach ingredients with attentiveness and care. Each material possesses its own inherent beauty, and our role as perfumers is to reveal that beauty thoughtfully rather than overpower it.

How do you approach responsibility, respect, and reconciliation in your work?
We live and work in Prince Edward Island, within Mi’kma’ki—the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people—and within the realities of ongoing treaty and governance relationships. The landscapes that inform our work are inseparable from the presence and stewardship of the Mi’kmaq, past and present. We acknowledge this not as a formality, but as a responsibility that informs how we move through place and practice.

In our work, we avoid using names, stories, or symbols that are not ours to use.

We approach reconciliation as a long-term responsibility, learning over time what it requires through truth, accountability, and respect.

We have much to learn to listen better, know better, and do better, and we understand this work as ongoing and unfinished. We remain open to correction and understand that our words and practices must change as our understanding deepens.

How does sustainability influence your work?
Sustainability is considered throughout our creative and production process. We strive to prioritize responsible sourcing, eco-conscious practices, and transparent decision-making whenever possible.

How do these values show up in the finished perfume?
Our values shape not only how fragrances are made, but how they feel to wear—balanced, considered, and designed to quietly enrich everyday moments.
